Getting to the World Triathlon Championship Finals

Hi! My name is Ilinca and I am a 27-year old PhD student doing cancer research at MSKCC. I am a cancer survivor myself, and a triathlete in my spare time. I recently came 13th in the country in my age group at the Triathlon National Championships, qualifying for the World Championships next year, and was officially invited to join the US National Team. The problem is that the Worlds are in Australia...which is awesome but unaffordable to get to on a student stipend :) I humbly admit this is a purely selfish fundraiser. I'm just out here trying to embody what re-finding strength after fighting cancer can look like, celebrating what the human body/mind can achieve and really uplifting fellow athletes, and spreading nothing but love and gratitude to all the amazing people around me. My dream of going to this competition is just a grateful celebration of being alive, so if you'd like to be part of it, may all the good karma be forever with you :)
