Hey Everyone,
I'm Christians mom. If you know us, you know it's been a long journey. 2 years ago we found out that Christian has a Braf 6 genetic mutation that resulted in a brain tumor. Generally, these tumors develop centrally in the brain..so the course of action is to reduce (generally chemo) and then remove the tumor. That's not Christians case. His tumor has somehow developed inside his spinal cord. It begins in his brain stem and travels down through multiple vertebrea. Resulting in fatal seizures, inability to eat or drink without aspirating and multiple other neurological issues. It is completely inoperable...and the chemo didn't work for him. We have spent over 18
0 nights in the hospital so far..and yet, he is the funniest and sweetest 5 year old you'll ever meet.
It is my goal to give him as much quality time as possible and I'm hoping for his 6th Christmas.
Our last Christmas was spent in Phoenix Children's hospital where he had just received his emergency trach after 6 weeks of intubation post fatal seizure. He was without a steady pulse for 22 minutes. 22 minutes of CPR and 2 defibs. One of those terrifying moments where you have to beg them to keep trying. Ever since then I've been on a mission to do everything I can, exhaust every option for him.
I have worked myself to the bone. I have transitioned my office in home, picked up every opportunity I could to ease the burden..and we are running out of options across the board. Medically, financially and otherwise.
I'm finally breaking down and asking for help. The costs both monetarily and in time itself are crippling my abilities in my business at the moment and all I can see right now is getting us to Christmas.
After everything is said and done, from now until Dec 25th I will end up being about 11,000 short.
I know right now is not the best time economically to be asking...and I know a lot of people are struggling right now. But if you have anything to spare or you need some charitable contributions for your tax portfolio...I could use a breathe.
Thank you if you even read all this...thank you 100 times over if you can help
Love to you all
