Getting the “W” against cancer-Miranda Gillaspie

What was supposed to be a memorable March and dream Disneyland trip for Miranda and her beautiful girls, quickly became an aggressive battle for her health when she discovered a lump in her armpit. This discovery led to a diagnosis of invasive ductal carcinoma.

Upon finding out, she immediately
started treatment which consisted of 8
rounds of chemo spanning 16 weeks.
This treatment was followed by a
bilateral- mastectomy and lymphadenectomy just a few days ago. She will now begin daily radiation for the next 6 weeks. If you know Miranda personally, you know she can and will do everything with a stubbornness and strength that’s unparalleled. Many of you who know her might not even know what she has been battling, because she
continues to operate full speed ahead.
Miranda is a single mom and her girls are her EVERYTHING! They are so blessed to have such a beautiful mom with such strength, intelligence, will, independence, fierceness, and a fighting spirit. She is an amazing daughter, sister, teacher, coach, mentor and friend.

Those of you who know Miranda, also know that she would never ask for help. That being said, we are doing it for her! Let’s rally around this amazing, selfless human being and show her the community support she has. Please help us relieve some of the financial burden this diagnosis has placed on her family.

Miranda is courageously fighting this
battle and doing so with humility and grace. She has given so much to so many, and here’s our chance to give back to the woman who does it all. Let’s come together and help her win this battle. Miranda is a fierce competitor and this battle with cancer will be no exception to her long history of W’s!
