Getting the Richardson Family back on their feet

Donation protected
On October 3rd, Austin Richardson noticed he was feeling worn down. By that evening, he noticed his energy continued to decrease and that he felt similar to a year and a half ago when he struggled with the effects of covid. His speech began to slur, and by the next morning they took Austin to the ER to have him checked out - deciding that it was something more than a covid test could reveal.

Upon arrival at the ER, doctors discovered Austin's blood pressure was abnormally high and that the treatments they were using were not rectifying the situation. As Austin was about to be released, his symptoms worsened, leading to an MRI which revealed he had had a stroke.

Austin was then rushed by plane to a hospital in Phoenix where he spent the next week getting X-rays, another MRI, as well as physical and speech therapy. He was also seen by cardiologists and other specialists trying to get his blood pressure under control and get him to a stable state.

Austin and his wife, Mary, have six children and had a lapse in their insurance. They were planning on getting back on insurance next month when the enrollment opened up, but emergencies occur on their own time. Mary applied for emergency ACCESS insurance, but just missed the financial threshold to qualify.

This beautiful family of eight are now faced with taking time to recover, continued speech and physical therapy, and visits to cardiologists while facing an ever-increasing mountain of medical expenses.

The Richardson family are the epitome of love, kindness, and service. Austin has worked for many years at Kempton Auto. He has volunteered for many years with the Boy Scouts and his community anywhere needed. If you have a problem and call the Richardsons you know someone is on their way to lend a hand. Mary tirelessly organizes clothing drives each year before school starts to give all the families in the community a leg up with the big expense of getting kids ready for school. She also works with kids with special needs at the local school and is constantly reaching out to those who are needing a listening ear or a helping hand. When you get to know Austin and Mary you are not making a friend, you are joining a family. They serve big and love even bigger.

We all need extra support at times and right now the Richardson Family is needing us to rally around them to help alleviate some of their current stress. Your contribution will help cover medical bills as they are currently coming in and help them afford the daily necessities as Austin recovers. Let's get this amazing family back to serving their community to their full capacity.
