Getting the Frampton Family to Disneyland Paris
Donation protected
My name is Kerry Frampton, I am 37 and recently received some devestating news. I have been diagnosed with bowel cancer, secondary liver cancer, ovarian cancer and it has now spread to my stomach. I only began to feel ill about 8 weeks ago, so as you can imagine, the past few weeks have been a whirlwind of discoveries and heartbreak. My prognosis at the moment doesn't look great. I have been potentially given a year to live, possibly 3 but my surgeon would probably not treat me past 5 years. Obviously this is all subjective as to how well my treatment goes, but we have to be realistic.
I live with my husband, Ian and our beautiful little girl, Elsie who is 4 years old. As you can also imagine, the thought of not having a wife and mummy around soon is catastrophic. Knowing that potentially I won't be around to support my little girl in all of the major milestones in her life is the hardest thing I have had to accept.
We are remaining incredibly positive about our situation. I am refusing to be upset or angry..that won't change my diagnosis and is frankly a waste of energy! There have been a few complications with the start of my treatment at the moment..they thought I had a block in my bowel and potentially I would need a stoma bag fitted, but currently they are concerned about the size of the cyst on my ovary which is increasing in size (17cm so far!) So once this has been stabilised, then I can start with my chemotherapy. "Phew!"
So, what is the reason for our fundraising story? Well, way before I was poorly, Ian and i had been planning a Christmas trip of a lifetime to Disneyland Paris for us and Elsie. She has known all about it since day one, and is incredibly excited about going! The trip itself has been paid for, but since becoming increasingly ill, we now need different insurance for me to be able to travel safely and securely. We also need to hire a wheelchair whilst we're there and a few other things to make our trip much more comfortable and enjoyable.
The doctor has been instrumental in the fact that she is happy for us to continue with our holiday plans, and said it is important that we go and enjoy our time together as a family.
We are asking for some help to achieve this hoiday. To create some amazing memories not only for Elsie, but for Ian and me too. We want to be comfortable and not have to compromise our time by worrying if we can afford to do this. I want to get the best out of what time I have left with my beautiful family.
I thank you in advance for any kind donations we receive. We couldn't do this without your help.
