Taylor is my everything. She had a sudden brain anuerism. She is only 16. Working for the County of Los Angeles is the greatest job ever but... we don't qualify for state family leave because we don't pay into it. I also dont qualify for 65% or 50 % pay or donated time off from my coworkers because it only applies to an illness I have. I have already taken a partial unpaid day off and she is still only in ICU. Taylor's 8th grade teacher (an awesome person) suggested I do this although I loathe the idea of asking for help. We are just beginning our journey of recovery. If I have to I will beg, borrow or steal ( holding off on the stealing) to make sure my daughter is back to the girl she once was. I am doing this to supplement the many days I will have to take off for her recovery as well as all the co-pays and extra money it is will cost. Her recovery will take at least a year to 18 months. She is the light of my life and I would walk through broken glass in the desert to make sure she gets through this. I expect to have to take off 4 to 5 days off a month without pay for her transition to the regular hospital, home, and rehabilitation. We already live pay check to pay check. I am posting a picture of her full of life. That is what I need to get us back to but I can't do it alone.
