Let's Get Tam Back on Her Feet

My name is Teresa, and I am hoping to help raise funds for my sister, Tam Adams. If you know my sister, you know she is one of the most compassionate, caring, and giving people you will ever meet. Tam had a long career as a Columbia Police Officer, where she tirelessly supported her community. She also has a passion for music and has helped many artists with their musical careers by holding local house concerts with her friend, Bonnie.

On December 2, Tam was helping a friend take down an old treehouse. One of the trees fell on her in a freak accident (even though she DID almost outrun it) and caused significant fractures in the sacrum/pelvic area. She was transported by ambulance to Boone Hospital Emergency before being sent to the University Hospital for a trauma surgeon. Tam had her first surgery on December 3 to have screws put in to stabilize the fractures. She had a second surgery December 9 to alleviate additional problems. She is currently at the Missouri Ortho Institute. She faces several weeks at a rehab facility when discharged from MOI and will also require supportive care once home.

Let's all pull together and help take the financial burden of this accident off her shoulders so she can focus on her recovery in the months ahead. Medical insurance will cover a portion of the medical and rehab costs, but a lot will have to be paid for out-of-pocket.
