A Father's Love is Forever

Donation protected
Over the last 15 years, we have had the honor of friendship with Bruce and Yolanda Sayre.  During which time, they added to their family; a beautiful, precious princess, Sydney.

Sydney is eight year’s old and Daddy’s Little Girl.

From changing diapers, to first words and steps, to Tailored Beginnings and the many pages of homework, to riding bikes together daily; their bond was unbreakable.  You could see the light in Bruce’s eyes and smile when his little sidekick was around.  It was divine order that placed Bruce as Sydney’s father and in our lives.  We found Bruce to have the most charismatic infectious smile, calmest demeanor, and a selfless personality.

One year ago, Bruce suffered a heart attack.  Bruce, thankfully, recovered and was able to continue his life as he had been.

About seven weeks ago, Bruce was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer.  As devastating as that diagnosis is, Bruce had the best prognosis with the latest cancer treatment plans.   He quickly underwent radiation for the brain tumors and had started the radiation for the lung cancer.  The most optimistic part of the treatment plan was the immunotherapy that he started in-between the radiation treatments.  This new technology has had very positive results with very little side effects.  So, Bruce’s prognosis went from ‘Oh, nooo!’ to ‘Oh, we can beat this!’

As with anyone, such an unexpected life changing event, it makes you very aware of life.  Bruce became more of who he was; life was ever more precious to him.  His little girl became even more precious.  Bruce did not look to life being over, he looked to life to be appreciated and treasure each moment.  Bruce’s most important wish was to make sure that Sydney would be taken care of and could continue to live the life he had provided for her.

This past Friday, November 20, 2020, Bruce unexpectedly passed away and we lost a loving amazing husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, doctor, neighbor, golfer, and an all round cool guy.

Now, we have the opportunity to fulfill Bruce’s wish.  We can make sure that Sydney will be taken care of and continue to live her life as close to what it was as possible.  We cannot replace Bruce, but we can make sure that she can continue to go to summer camps, dance lessons, and continue to thrive in her life socially and academically.  We can come together and help to eliminate or reduce the financial burden at this time and in the future.

As we go on and live each day, we can smile.  When we smile, we will think of Bruce and know that with each smile, we have fulfilled his last wish of taking care of and helping Sydney live on.

Bruce, your smile is gone and your hand we cannot touch, but your infectious smile and happiness will linger through eternity.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts, prayers, and support,
