Getting our hearts pumping for Little Hearts Matter
Howdy!
As a Global Supply Chain team we are undertaking a sponsored walkathon on 31st July using the treadmills in the Marlow office.
We are raising money for Little Hearts Matter who have supported our colleague and friend, Syed.
We'll be walking from 7.30 am in the morning right through to 5.30 pm and hope to break the 50 mile barrier. Your support would mean so much to the team.
Below you can find out more about Syed's journey and how Little Hearts Matter have supported him and his family.
Syed's story:
As a family we were super excited when our daughter was born. However this was different for us and life changing, our daughter was born with a congenital heart defect -essentially half a heart. We went on to spend many months of her early life in hospital with procedure after procedure, surgery after surgery.
We were unsure how the outcome of all this would be but also how would she live with this condition, we had so many question - what does this condition actually mean? Can she go to school? Can we travel? what is a normal life? what about managing her condition throughout the seasons? What if she catches something?
Fortunately for us, a wonderful charity named Little Hearts Matter had thought of all of this. At that time, they had produced so much information, guidance about the day to day practical things, structured booklets full of details and a support line with someone to speak to about our questions. The relief of knowing you are not alone and somewhere to go for support was indescribable.
Today Little Hearts Matter celebrates its 30th Birthday, they are the only UK charity that provide awareness, support, documentation, connections with other parents and events for babies/children and young adults who have a single ventricle heart condition. They provide end to end support from the point of antenatal diagnosis to young adults and all ages in between. We would be grateful for your support for such a wonderful charity.
Thank you for the support!
