As many of you know my niece Lucy Wynn’s passion are her horses. On Monday, October 3rd the barn where Lucy keeps one of her horses burned to the ground. We are so exceptionally grateful to report that there was no loss of life, no humans (who attempted to save the building) or horses were injured in this tragedy. However, Lucy lost everything. From feed, to saddles, bits, leads, buckets, blankets, her helmet… EVERYTHING is ash. So many of the people who love her and her mom, my sister Jennifer Wynn want to help. I am establishing this Go Fund Me in order for you to do so.

 

Lucy has overcome some significant obstacles and we believe it’s because she found her passion and love for riding and competing. The barn is her castle. The work she does in the barn is her love. She and her family work hard to help support her passion. Lucy works two jobs and sometimes still picks up odd jobs, babysitting and dog sitting. Her horses have provided Lucy with confidence and no doubt that will allow her to pursue future goals (which at one time seemed out of reach), because of this found confidence.

 

I know we all want Lucy to be able to “get back on the horse” just as quickly as she can. In order to that we have established this fund to get her the tools she needs to do so quickly. Although the amount lost far exceeds the amount seeking, we are hoping to just get her back on!

Lucy’s passion and hard work with her horses took her from a girl with learning disabilities, teased, and lacking of confidence, to a beautiful confident young lady, with aspirations that far exceed anything she ever thought she could do just a few short years ago. Her dream is to be a veterinary surgeon. She will have to work very very hard to achieve this goal, but if anyone can do it, she can!

No cause for the fire has been determined and it remains under investigation.
