In late September 2025, a team of Indigenous models will be travelling to Milan, Italy for Milan Fashion Week. We'll be walking the runway for Ally's Ribbons, an Indigenous fashion designer local to Manitoba, Canada who specializes in couture ribbon work.

If you give her a quick search on Instagram and Facebook, you'll see that she's a serious brand and has a sizable following!

Ally (Alyssia Sutherland) was featured in the Winnipeg Free Press and virginradio.ca, being named one of Ace Burpee's Top 100 Most Fascinating Manitobans in 2023. In early 2025, she was featured in an article by Elle Canada, listed as one of twelve Indigenous designers to watch.

However, despite her popularity she's still an "up and coming" artist, and is relying primarily on fundraising to get herself and her team to Milan. This team of approximately 30 people is comprised of co-designers, models, assistants, content creators and stylists (some of whom have taken on multiple roles). With that, please consider donating. Your support could help our Indigenous artists gain real traction and recognition in the international fashion industry - an industry that still lacks exposure to our cultures, identities and art forms.

Lastly, please know that we're hoping Milan Fashion Week and our fundraising efforts in 2025 will kickstart real opportunities for us all in the future; collectively and individually. The tally of funds raised on this gofundme page will be divided equally in CAD amongst our team members.
