Getting Eric back on track!
Donation protected
(This was created for the sole benefit of Eric Lehnen, and it has his blessing.)
Eric Lehnen was involved in a pretty rough crash over the weekend at Heartland Park in Topeka KS, and has suffered significant injuries that will take a long time to recover from.
Eric is a wonderful asset and friend to the NASA MidAmerica Racing region. He travels all the way from Minnesota to all of our events in the midwest to lead one of the HPDE (high performance driving education) groups, as well as competing (and winning) most of his time trial (TT) races.
Eric has always been a huge stickler on safety equipment, and was the reason one of the drivers this weekend in the advanced drivers group was lucky enough to receive a new Hans device for their safety.
Because of such safety equipment, Eric did not receive any worse injuries.
He has a huge group of supporters that have already helped him since his injuries, but he will need continued help and encouragement to get him through his recovery.
Eric is currently at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS recovering, and is away from all his family and friends in Minnesota.
He has a long journey ahead of him, being confined to a wheelchair, unable to walk or work for the next 6 weeks, with continued recovery after that. Luckily, medical expenses should be covered, but this would help supplement travel expenses, accruing bills, and lost income over the next 3+ months of recovery.
Let's help Eric get back on his feet, and back to winning all the Hoosier tire contingencies in his TT group.
