Getting Baby Charlotte Started
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Cathy Martin and I’m trying to raise funds for my daughter’s family. At 28 weeks pregnant my daughter, Rachel became very ill and was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia. An emergency C-section was performed and at 28 weeks, Charlotte was born. Charlotte was quickly taken to the NICU where she was placed on a ventilator, oxygen and C-Pap. After 1-2 days she was able to come off of the ventilator and remains on C-pap. Tomorrow, 8/13/23 Charlotte will be 1 week old. Rachel visits Charlotte each morning for a couple of hours and several hours every evening. Charlotte will spend at least the next 8 weeks in NICU.
Rachel and her husband, Joey also have a 5 year old son, Liam who started Kindergarten earlier this week, the day after Charlotte was born. Joey was able to take off of work for one week to be present for Rachel and Charlotte, but will return to work this week. Rachel, however, is unable to return to work as her previously “work from home” job became full time in-office while she was hospitalized. During this time, Rachel will be unable to work as she remains present in the hospital for Charlotte, as well as caring for their son, Liam. Their world has been turned upside down and nothing could have prepared them for this experience. With Rachel being out of work, they will need assistance with rent and groceries. If you feel led to, please consider donating to help alleviate the financial strain that this family is enduring as they work to get their sweet baby girl home, where she belongs.
From the bottom of my heart,
Thank You
