Getting Across the Finish Line: Ayo's Dream
Donation protected

Y’all let me introduce you to Carlos, a brilliant black creative who also happens to be my husband. He is a final year graduate film student at Howard University and needs your help completing his thesis film, Ayo’s Dream.
In Ayo’s Dream, a devout Yoruba practitioner must rely on a conflicted exorcist when she is attacked by a supernatural entity. We will be using the funds to help pay our amazingly talented cast and specialty crew, including our Sound Engineer and our special effects Makeup Artist who will bring “the entity” to life.To ensure we have a high quality product we will be using professional actors as well as hiring three specialty crew members. Carlos has put up $4000.00 of his own money and now we are relying on the support from pillars of the community to get us across the finish line.
We’ve set a goal to raise $5,000 via GoFundMe by the end of August. Any contribution is appreciated.
More About Carlos
Born and raised in Barbados his passion for cinema was ignited when his parents took him to the movie theatre for the first time to see Top Gun. He was mesmerized by the action taking place on the expansive screen while the noise of the jets and the music enveloped him in surround sound. He would go on to attend the Full Sail University where he graduated valedictorian with a B.S. in Film Production. From there he would go on to work in several areas in film and television from Production Assistant, right up to Producer.

The only thing more important than storytelling to Carlos is empowering others to tell their own stories. He has been a film facilitator and coach since 2012. Carlos’ mission is to create a more inclusive space within the cinematic arts and to tell BIPOC stories from across the diaspora. We thank you for any assistance you can provide.
