Get Leka to the Games!

Hello! My name is Leka Fineman. I am a CrossFit masters athlete from Oakland California. I train at Endgame Athletics (aka CrossFit EGA, part of the CrossFit Oakland family). I am also a full time working single mom of two teenage daughters.
I began CrossFit in 2008 at age 41. This year I turned 50, and (ranked 8th worldwide)in the Women's 50-54 category, qualified to compete in the CrossFit Games which take place August 3-6th in Madison WI.

Qualifying to compete in The Games is a big deal in itself. For Masters athletes, the top 200 in the world in each age category, after the Open go on to the Online Qualifier, and then the top 20 are invited to compete in The Games. Getting there is another challenge. I am creating this gofundme in hopes I can raise funds to cover the cost of travel and accommodations to The Games in Madison.
Here are the estimated costs:
Lodging 7/30-8/6: ~ $1200
Air fare $500
Rental car + gas ~$325
Food: ~$500
Registration Fee: $211
Misc. ~ $500
Why should you care?
What made me fall in love with CrossFit aside from learning that I was capable of doing way more than I ever dreamed, was the community aspect. The people I consider to be some my best friends are those I met the first week I started crossfitting, 9 years ago. The CrossFit Oakland/EGA family is a particularly diverse and inclusive family. Having the love and support of this amazing network has been incredible, and has enabled me to achieve things I never imagined. I have learned that with hard work, dedication, and surrounding yourself with the right people, anything is possible, and age is really just a number! It is my hope that I can give back and spread this message by sharing my experience and knowledge and continuing to be an inspiration and resource to others.
