I'm Gethin, a trans non-binary guy, and I'm raising money to help pay for my top surgery.

My transition has been long, strange (!), often scary but also often lovely. While other feelings fluctuated, my chest has been a constant source of dysphoria for a long time. It has contributed massively to body image issues, insecurities and discomfort I've felt since I first went through puberty. I lost weight, I gained weight, I got skinny, I got buff. It didn't make a different to how I felt. Top surgery is, for me, a pressing gender affirming procedure that will change my life for the better.

As many of you know, getting gender affirming care in the UK is a difficult, at times impossible, process. For this reason, I'll be going abroad for private treatment. There are a few countries in Europe that use the informed consent model, so I looked there and found a surgeon in Sweden who has a good track record with gender affirming surgery.

I am saving up money myself to make this happen, but between the cost of the surgery (around £4.5k) and travel/accommodation (I'll have to stay near the clinic for around 2 weeks), I could use a little help. The target of £6k is almost the full amount I anticipate needing for everything, because I like to dream big. But even pocket change will help me out massively!
