Ashley the sweetest 11 year old you will ever meet caring and loving with a fondness for owls.

In mid July 2014, she was admitted to MSCHONY for heart failure and listed on UNOS in hopes of finding a match. On Dec 3, 2014 Ashley received second chance for life, thanks to a family who donated a Heart. It was supposed to be a 3 week recovery and be home by Christmas, but destiny had a different story to tell.

Recovery started out well, but as her body healed it began to reject her new heart sending Ashley into cardiac arrest and placing her in a precarious fight for her life.

In order to stave off the rejection, Ashley was placed on medications which side effects caused a massive stroke. The doctors explained, at the time, that according to MRIs there wasn't much Ashley would be able to do.

Well Ashley has proven to all that she's a fighter.

Despite having to fight to rewire her brain to do even the simplest tasks, like swallow, Ashley has proven she is nothing short of a miracle. Her recovery has been slow, but every day she reclaims a little more of the body strength and movement she once had. Ashley works hard every day with the purpose of going back home.

Recently we were told that the odds of an October homecoming are looking good!!!

But we need to make adjustments (stairlift, ramps, accessible bathroom) to our home before they will release her. Your donation will go directly towards covering those costs.
