I have set up this fundraising page for my father in law Anthony Coates to help raise funds for hes very close friend Daren aged 53 who has been shockingly advised he has 6-12months to live last week.

Daren is a family man who has 2 Boys Callum & Harry with he’s soon to be wife Jo he’s childhood sweetheart ❤️

Everyone  that knows Daren knows he is a great guy, incredibly genuine with a huge heart who puts himself out to help anybody so any donations to help Daren would be really gratefully appreciated as he deserves all the help he can get!

Daren was diagnosed with Anal Squamous Cell Carcinoma Cancer Stage 2 on 30th December 2019.

He started treatment in January 2020 which consisted of six weeks of intensive Chemo and Radiation therapy. Following the course of treatment Daren has had check-ups every 3 months, during this time he has been cancer free.

For the last couple of months Daren has suffered with a bloated stomach and was advised to have a pet scan. The Pet Scan showed cancer in his lymph nodes around his lungs, liver and stomach. A biopsy of his lymph nodes was requested and the results showed that the Anal Squamous Cell Cancer had metastasised and he was advised by his oncologist that there was no cure and was given a prognosis of 6-12 months to live.

The only treatment offered under the NHS is palliative care consisting of Chemotherapy which has a 50% chance of giving him an extra couple of months but carries with it the risk of ending it sooner. 

 

Following lots of online research Daren is now on a strict Alkaline diet which provides a hostile environment to try and slow the cancer down and stop it from spreading. The only treatment to offer hope is Dendritic Cell Therapy which attacks the cancer cells. The treatment has an estimated cost of £60,000 for initial treatment.
