Rainman Johnson is one of the most selfless, giving people I know. He is also one of the most frugal and simple people I know and literally personified the adage of giving people the shirt off his back. In fact he may even be annoyed at me for doing this.
He had an accident yesterday, he fell out of a tree doing his job and broke bones in both legs and fractured his back. The prognosis is good, but he has multiple surgeries and at least three months off of his feet before he can start walking again.
He and his wife and son depend on his job, which he won’t be able to do for at least 3-6 months and his current marketplace health insurance has a $16,000 deductible. They are also going to have to build a wheelchair ramp.
They have a tough road ahead, and I know if a few folks can give a little here and there we can make a huge impact for them during this time.
I suspect they are going to need that deductible plus a few other things; plus 3-6 months of living expenses. I imagine they may need as much as $25-30k to get through this.
Lastly, Rainman and his family recently accepted a position to be caretakers for Nomads Land, and we’re planning to move there at the beginning of August to begin. They are still planning to do this, but if you are able to support this ministry, it will also indirectly help Rainman and his family.
