Sheyanne Romero is a vibrant 28-year-old woman who needs your help.
Her story is anything but typical. Usually, she's the one with a pen telling your story.  It's time to tell hers.
She was supposed to be meeting friends in downtown Visalia on Dec. 3, 2016. Her night would end unlike any night before.
While crossing the road, she was struck by a taxi and thrown yards away into the intersection. Nearby paramedics ran to her aid. She was lifeless. Moments later, she gasped for air.
She was rushed to Kaweah Delta Medical Center. She suffered major injuries to her head and pelvis.
Her family has watched her fight in the ICU. In two days, she's made progress. Smiling, laughing (in pain) and asking when she can go back to work.
Sheyanne's road to recovery will be anything but easy. She will likely need therapy and future medical visits. But, for the girl who thought she was invincible, she's watching the world from a hospital bed, desperate to sieze life once again.
Sheyanne's only concern should be recovery, but she doesn't have medical insurance. She would never ask for help, instead, her friends are asking for her.
The bills will mount, but with help from the community she's supported, she can thrive beyond this bump in the road.
