Dearest Community.

We are reaching out to you for help. We (Yiana and Benji) are asking for that help because our dad's psychological and physical health has gone from bad to worse over the past 17 months, and we are trying everything possible to support him on his journey back to well-being.

Everyone who knows our dad, Patricio, known to many as Pato, remember him as a full-of-life character, bringing life, music, warmth and hospitality to anyone who would receive it. He has a heart of gold. and has always been someone who helps others in need and has cared for numerous people suffering from mental illness over the years. His natural tendency and passion to help and support others is one of the gifts he has given to the world. We are now trying to give back to him.

Amongst the chaos of moving their lives from Australia to Chile with two young boys, Yiana has been caring for our father 24/7 for the last 4 months. He cannot live alone as he would barely eat or shower, and would often take himself off at night to sleep on the beach in the cold. His mind has been completely taken hostage by crippling negative thoughts, thoughts which are often of a different reality to what most of us know. It started as depression and has developed into a severe eating disorder and psychotic depression.

Unfortunately, Yiana and her young family are overwhelmed by continuing to care for our dad 24/7, and financially we are finding it increasingly difficult to cover all the costs associated with the practical and psychological support our dad needs for his recovery.

We are trying to raise €10,000 to ensure our dad continues to receive the necessary care and support he desperately needs.

We're asking people to donate anything they can, even the smallest amount, to this cause. Really, even the smallest amount will help, every penny, cent, or peso will count.

Donations will help:

- Therapy and Counseling: Regular sessions with mental health professionals.

- Medical Treatments: Necessary medications and specialized treatments.

- Daily Support: A full time carer - assistance with daily activities to help him manage his condition.

This will ensure our dad receives the support he desperately needs and Yiana will be able to regain some energy whilst doing everything she can to build a home with JP and her boys.

We totally understand that many people are struggling financially in the current economic climate and not everyone may be in a position to donate. If you can’t contribute in this way, we understand completely and don’t want you to feel pressured to donate.
