Hi! I’m Sammy, Watson’s aunt. In April of 2020 my sister delivered Watson (her fourth kid) a little over 12 weeks early.
After four months in the NICU, Watson finally got to go home and meet his siblings and extended family for the first time.
From September- February he was at home with his siblings and I did my best to help them balance his constant readmissions and appointments.
Just a week before this unexpected emergency his mom was able to start her new job where she’d be working from home in order to pay their bills while still being close enough to Watson if his caretakers needed help. Now they are in the hospital where they will remain for at least a few more weeks before they are ready to head back home. The hope is that Watson will have nurses around him 24 hours a day, but nursing is hard to staff in PA and we’re not sure when that’ll happen. If they can’t find nursing, Cortney will have trouble working because a Tracheostomy requires 24/7 eyes on the baby and constant care.
Please help however you can by either sharing or donating to help my sister and her family br able to worry a little less about paying their mortgage while they learn how to take care of their baby’s new medical needs. All this family needs is a little bit more time to get him home and to get nurses hired so that his mama can get back to a full time schedule at work.
thank you so much
