Get Us To The Philippines

Hello everyone! We're Megan and Reycie starting this gofundme page to help fund our trip to the Philippines this July.  We are part of a nonprofit organization called the Caring Angel Foundation and will be joining their surgical medical mission to help provide medical services for locals who cannot afford it. This mission is targeted for residents in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines and will allow many doctors, surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals to perform numerous life-changing surgeries that include: hernia repairs, cholecystectomy cysts removal, gallbladder removals, thyroidectomy, and minor tooth extractions.

The both of us are current college students pursuing degrees in Nursing. We were both born and raised in the Bay Area and were able to visit the Philippines in the past. Our experiences made us realize how locals out there do not have it as easy as we do at home, and we believe that those who are less fortunate deserve the same compassionate and effective healthcare, regardless of their financial situations. Not only will this mission help change the lives of those who otherwise could not afford these medical services, it would be a great opportunity for us, and potentially for you, to give back for the less fortunate of the Philippines. This once in a lifetime experience will also help us continue our journey to get into Nursing School. As Pre-Nursing student volunteers, we will be able to help set up surgical rooms, help prepare patients for surgery, transport medications and supplies to the OR,  and shadow medical professionals to gain the best experience. We aspire to help those in need, especially the less fortunate because the time sacrificed does not compare to the heartwarming feeling they receive in return. Your donations will help fund our airfares as well as other necessities we will need once we are out there. Thank you and God Bless!
