Hi there!
We are a team of four Australian high school students who have qualified for the international level of the IOL — International Olympiad of Linguistics. This year it’s held in Brasília (how exciting!) We have been studying linguistics since 2021 and are finally able to compete internationally!! We’ve worked so hard for this and for three of us it will be our first ever overseas trip!
Learn more about the competition here:
https://ioling.org
The trip, unfortunately, will cost tens of thousands of dollars for the four of us and a teacher which is of course a lot of money, and our school will not be helping cover the cost. This will cover flights from Australia to Brazil, hotel costs for ten days, and the cost of registration for the competition. We need to raise enough for all of us to go, otherwise none of us are allowed to. We would so greatly appreciate it if you could help us achieve our years-in-the-making dream!!
