Here at Umami Cafe and Catering, I have proudly been fully self funded, and recently plugged my modest savings into my kitchen, and into upgrading the equipment. Now that I have done that, the Fire Safety Department has informed me that in order to be compliant with them, I must extend my hood over the range by about 6-8”. Until that is done, I cannot use my new equipment. Which means I cannot do my job. I absolutely wish I would pull a rabbit out of a hat and just wave a wand and come up with the funds, but as I said—I sunk my few savings into the new equipment, so there is no backup fund for this. I love serving my community and I am humbly asking for your help so I can get my kitchen back up and running ASAP. Thank you,
