Help Tony Get His Independence Back

Hi, my name is Abby and I’m fundraising for my husband, Tony.

What Happened

In May 2024, Tony went into hospital for what should have been a straightforward knee surgery. Instead, he suffered a broken femur, life-threatening infections, and septic shock.

He has since been through:

• 8 major surgeries

• Multiple infections and septic shock

• Over 15 months of hospital stays, IV antibiotics, and setbacks

Tony’s femur is still broken, and he cannot move forward with the knee replacements he needs until the infection is finally gone.

How This Has Affected Him

Tony has gone from being active and independent to being housebound and dependent on me for even the smallest things. His mental health has taken a huge hit, and he hasn’t been able to do simple everyday things like walk the dog with me or pop to the shops in over a year.

Why We Need Your Help

We are raising money for a specialist chair that will give Tony back some freedom and independence.

With this chair, Tony will be able to:

• Leave the house safely

• Join me on dog walks

• Take part in everyday life again
