In pursuit of the Drift Collective Championship 2025, I took a gamble that didn't pay off and the reality of the consequences has hit hard.
Those who are in the sport of drift racing, in Australia, know that there is little to no financial upside, even if you are on the podium
We all know that this sport takes up a huge chunk of our passion, time, and most importantly....resources. You would never lend your pride & joy to another racer if you didn't trust that racer, and I am humbled that Tim trusted me with his car. I am just so devastated beyond words how the day panned out. I had high hopes of putting it on the top step for Tim and I.
Today was not my day and devastatingly, instead of everything going right, the car turned left....straight into the wall. Crushed is not a word that explains the end of my Round 2 Drift Collective aspirations. Post race, the brutal reality of what transpired has hit home.
For now, Team Veersma will be pulling out of the championship to concentrate our time and resources to get Tim's car repaired. This is our first priority. That said, given the cost of this sport especially from a far, we would really appreciate any help to get Tim back on track. As difficult as it is to ask for help, we would be unbelievably grateful for your assistance.
