The Woodward High School Boomer Band has been given a once-in-a-lifetime honor: we have been invited to represent our community and perform in the 250th Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C. on July 4th, 2026! This incredible opportunity allows our students to showcase their talent on a national stage while honoring America’s history and celebrating its future.

But we can’t do it without your help.

Why We Need Your Support

Taking the band to Washington, D.C. is a huge undertaking. Between transportation, lodging, meals, instrument shipping, and uniforms, the costs add up quickly. We want every student—no matter their financial situation—to be able to participate in this historic event.

Your donation will help cover:

Travel expenses (buses/flights to Washington, D.C.)

Hotel accommodations & meals for our students

Instrument transportation & equipment needs

Uniforms and performance supplies

Educational experiences (museum visits, monuments, and historic tours to enhance student learning while in D.C.)

For many of our band students, this will be their first trip outside of Oklahoma—and their first chance to see our nation’s capital.
