The SoulFire Project Rescues Dobie -ReconTour 2023

Hi, my name is Cooper Morgan and I am the director of The SoulFire Project, a mobile community of creatives that use music, film and sustainable practices to unite and empower people throughout Latin America.

The SoulFire Project has changed the lives of thousands of people, uplifting and inspiring them through music and film and moving them to action through sustainable projects and workshops.

Here is a glimpse into what we do:

After 12 years on the road, 40k miles on recycled vegetable oil, and collaborations with more than 100 builders, engineers, filmmakers and musicians from 23 countries, the SoulFire bus, "Dobie," is ready to return to Mexico to continue inspiring the masses and serving the movement toward a more sustainable future.

The SFP ReconTour 2023 will be a 3,800-mile journey over a 2-month period using 250 gallons of Waste Vegetable Oil. With your support, we will perform solar-powered concerts, share open-air cinema and give SFP bus sustainable systems tours in communities and cultural centers throughout western Colombia and, after crossing the Caribbean sea, in eastern Mexico.

The funds raised to make the SFP ReconTour 2023 happen will help pay for…

1. Bus storage and maintenance (after 3+ years of sitting)

2. Bus shipping/Colombia export/Mexico import costs

3. SFP crew flights

4. Waste Veggie Oil cost (paid to mom-and-pop restaurants, supporting local economies and showing them the viability of waste vegetable oil as an alternative fuel)

5. Parking and Food costs
