Hi, my name is Louise and I am fundraising for Big V Sanctuary, a family run vegan animal sanctuary based in France.

Big V Sanctuary is in need of your support for building a temporary home for their 90 lake based residents and regular visitors. We need a safe and secure holding area for our feathered friends in case we go into avian flu lockdown. There has been some cases of lockdowns already being ordered in nearby departments, and there has already been culling in other locations such as the UK. We therefore think this will be a widespread problem over the coming months, and we just do not have a suitable space for them to be kept safe. What we will need to set up is two polytunnel type structures with predator proof netting in between. This will mean the birds have access to inside and outside areas depending on the weather and their preference. The polytunnels cost 700 each, and the netting 280, plus we will need wood, nails, screws etc to set up a frame for the netting part. Once we are allowed to let them back onto the lake, we can reuse everything for growing vegetables to help feed all the residents in less restricted months!
