Help a local filmmaker tell a story about the community they were raised in! The Gem City is a short film based on an experience my friends and I had last summer. We avoided a near colision while driving back to the house. Soon after, we found ourselves stuck in a moral dilemma, tending to a severly wounded man.

Spending the 21 years of my life neighboring I-75, over the bridge from Downtown Dayton, Ohio, I grew up around many interesting and peculiar personalities. I saw a lot of people compensating for the silent war that is forced on the lower, working-classes.

Our experience that night resembeled this quiet violence in an intimate and direct manner. Half a year later I finally decided to take this personal event and attempt an adaption that captures the consequences and desolation of the American Rust-Belt.

GOAL

The only way for this story to leap off the page and into production is if we have your help to produce it. With your monetary support we can afford to provide our cast and crew with a healty set experience and our production with the proper equipment rentals and production design for the best results regarding saftey and practicality.
