Just before his 60th birthday, our dad Ike Chi died suddenly while on a weekend trip with friends. He left behind two struggling businesses, one of which is a restaurant he had opened only a few months before his death.  

With no will and no life insurance, our family has been forced to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket for: 

--funeral expenses
--legal fees (including defending ourselves from costly lawsuits filed against the businesses after dad's death)
--packing up and moving/disposing of/storing dad’s belongings  
--maintaining the businesses including paying rent, utilities, and payroll 

We have spent all of our savings and more while being unable to work full-time elsewhere and earn money back, since we're spending up to 20 hours a day working at the businesses… and the costs keep piling up.  

We hate to ask our friends and family for help, especially during the holidays, but we’ve hit a wall. We’d appreciate your support more than you know—every little bit helps!
