Like all carbohydrates, Bread & Bubbles is a love story.

It began with two people from different countries who connected through food, travel, and curiosity about the world. For Umut, food is memory. Growing up in Turkey, street food was part of daily life. Toasted sandwiches eaten standing outside, simple ingredients prepared with care, and the feeling of warmth and community that came with them. Those early experiences shaped how he thinks about food to this day.

For me, food has always been tied to culture and movement. I have lived in several countries, learned languages, and built my life around connecting with people across cultures. I worked in New York City, where food from every corner of the world exists side by side, and where small food businesses tell powerful stories. Those experiences taught me how meaningful simple food can be when it is made with intention and shared with others.

When our lives came together, so did these experiences.

Bread & Bubbles is our way of blending them. Bubble waffles that feel playful and joyful, alongside toasted Turkish style sandwiches inspired by the street food Umut grew up eating. We wanted something approachable, comforting, and real. Not a big restaurant, but a small food trailer that brings people together at festivals, pop ups, and community events.

Building this has been far more challenging than we expected. We have spent months navigating permits, inspections, and unexpected requirements while keeping our menu intentionally small and thoughtful. We chose this path because we believe in doing things the right way, even when it is hard.

We are very close to opening.

Bread & Bubbles represents our relationship, our cultures, and our belief that food can tell a story and create connection. With a little support, we can finish the final steps and begin sharing the food that brought us together with our community.
