Hi everyone! I'm Arby Wolkov and I am an American Sign Language teacher at Taft Charter High School in Woodland Hills, CA! Every year, myself and other ASL teachers in Southern California put together a field trip called, "Silent Weekend!" We invite our ASL and Deaf and Hard of Hearing students to stay a weekend in Big Bear, CA and immerse themselves in Deaf Culture. This means, that it's only signing ALL WEEKEND! This is a great opportunity for students to practice their skills, learn how to interact within the Deaf community, and meet new friends! We are raising money to pay for the fees for the Taft students who are participating this year. This money will help pay for the cabin, food, materials/supplies, and activity fees!
