Hi, My name is Beko Wande, and I am a first-generation immigrant that moved here at a young age. I grew up in Alberta, where I developed my passion and talent in Football; from there, I was recruited to multiple universities to play and continue my education. Unfortunately, due to Covid, my plans where I intended to play had been shifted, and I was in motion for a new beginning. Within the last year, I had traveled from the Univerity of Calgary to play junior football for the Langley rams and won the National Championship. From there, I was then recruited by numerous colleges again. I chose to attend Carleton Univerity in Ottawa this previous semester(January-April), and that's where I began to go through a series of unfortunate circumstances that left me with the decision to transfer to the University of British Columbia on such short notice. Once May came, I flew back home to Alberta, where I immediately planned and moved to Vancouver to catch up on what the team had been doing and get myself situated on the west coast. All my courses are ready to be transferred, but the financial process has put me in a bind. I have been working to pay off my previous semester at Carleton university so I can receive my transcript to then forward to UBC so I can continue to pursue my goals, receive my degree and professional football. I have been working all summer, and all of my money has been put towards repaying the tuition. With the season's urgency around the corner, I am looking for some support to get everything finalized in time to make me eligible for the upcoming season.
