Hello, my name is Sean; I've struggled with my vision for a long time and it's been getting worse over time. My lenses are half an inch thick in my frames and I would swap to contact lenses but they cause my eyes to become irritated and inflamed.
Because of this the lenses hurt my peripheral vision enough its not safe for me to drive, and I have gradually been having exacerbating issues due to my worsening astigmatism. My cornea is too thin for LASIKs and the only viable alternative is something called an 'implantable collamer lens' (ICL) surgery.
And you know the drill by now, insurance doesn't cover it. The surgery is 9,000$ and I've already taken out a medical loan for 6,000$; but I really need help with the other $3,000. I feel terrible asking but I don't know if I have an alternative beyond remaining legally blind (and gradually losing my sight altogether).
