Hello Friends and Friend-of Friends! My name is Rowan, and I am a full-time artist and educator living and working in the Bay Area. Yesterday, my catalytic converter was stolen from my car parked outside my home in Berkeley, leaving me with a major unexpected expense that I simply cannot afford on my own.

My car is essential for my work - I rely on it every day to get to gigs, rehearsals, and to teach my students, since working from home isn’t an option for me. On top of that, I have a disabled elder in my life who lives in Los Angeles, and I need my car to travel back and forth to support her regularly.

I love my work and I know the impact it makes, especially when my focus is on making music accessible for people who have had nontraditional paths in the arts. My presence in the community as a mentor and performer is something I cherish, but sustaining this kind of labor and saving enough money is nearly impossible, especially for those of us who don’t have financial help from our families.

As I continue to grow my businesses against many odds in the most expensive city in America, it means the world to me to have the support of my friends and community. Your help will allow me to repair my car, afford a cage for my converter so it doesnn't get stolen again, as well as continue my work, and keep supporting my own loved ones in need!
