UPDATE: Rosie came home today, July 26!! She’s got a long road ahead, broken ribs need to heal, lots of painkillers, but we’re so happy to have her back home after almost a week at the animal hospital. Thanks to everyone who donated for their generosity, we have been blown away by all the support!!
Original post: Hi there, we are Christian and Ila and we need your help. Rosie is our sweet and spunky miniature Dachshund, the light of our lives. At the end of a magical wedding day at the farm, Rosie escaped and took off, only to be found two hours later in a field, bloodied and wounded. She sustained four broken ribs and damage to her lung, among other issues, and is going to require expensive surgery to get all fixed up. The cost of her treatment and stay in hospital is substantial. Instead of having the best weekend of our lives, we are now terrified about losing our little girl. We can’t bring ourselves to say no to her treatment. It would crush us.
Adding to the financial burden is the fact that we are still recovering from emergency surgery last year on Noya, one of our other dogs who passed away due to cancer six months after the surgery.
Anything you can give to make sure Rosie gets home and in one piece would mean the world to us. Whether you know us or are a complete stranger that came across this post, we will be eternally grateful for your generosity.
