Hi folks!
Some of you know me, some of you may not. My name is Riki and I have something called functional neurological disorder, which along with other things, has had me relying on a wheelchair for over 10 years.
Last week my wheelchair broke, and I discovered yesterday that the issue was not addressed. I need new wheels, and although I really want fancy ones like I used to have before they were unfortunately lost during turbulent times, I don't feel comfortable asking for that kind of money.
Instead I found used options locally, including a back up wheelchair I can use as mine has been so unreliable lately and needs time to get fixed. I'm also looking to fix my current back up chair, which is unusable at the moment, and fix elements of my everyday chair such as the cushion.
What am I going to do with 3 wheelchairs? Good question. 1 will be kept as a back up, while 1 will be donated, free of cost, to a local marginalized disabled person who wouldn't qualify for the chair they need through the system.
I think of my community first a lot, and it's hard for me to ask for help, but I'm in a bind.
Thank you for reading this.
