A New Liver for Ralph
Hi everyone, my name is Alesha, I’m Ralph Hartmann’s daughter, and I have put
together this GoFundMe on behalf of my parents. Thank you in advance for
taking the time to read this over, it is so appreciated.
Ralph was diagnosed with a liver disease called PSC, (Primary Sclerosing
Cholangitis,) in 1996. Up until the last two years, it has been uneventful, however, it has recently started to progressively become worse, and now he is at the point of end stage liver failure. After months and months of doctoring and tests, as of
May 5th, he has finally been accepted for a liver transplant and has been listed.
Along with that, comes the bills of medical stays at different hospitals, the
transplant procedure itself, (upwards of $300,000,) 22 different drugs and
anti-rejection medications, (many of which he will be on the rest of his life,) all the insurance premiums, as well as Connie having to take a family medical leave from her full-time job, as the hospital requires him to have round the clock care for at
least the first 3 months after the transplant.
I’m asking for some help, on behalf of my parents, to pay for all of this, as my dad has not been able to work since August of last year, and along with the help of
family and friends, and my mom working full-time, the price of everything that
comes with a liver transplant is still overwhelming. Along with monetary help,
I'm also asking for prayer, a few specific prayers would be:
1. That my dad would be next in line to receive a liver donor,
and that it would happen quickly.
2. The blood clot in his portal vein would dissolve so he would become
a candidate for a live liver donor.
3. That our family would have peace through this whole process.
I cannot even begin to explain what my family has endured this past year as my
dad’s disease has only continued to get worse, but as humbling as it is, I am
reaching out and asking for help to get my dad the liver and medical attention he needs to be healthy again.
Please feel free to watch the video for a more detailed description from Ralph
and Connie.
Thank you in advance for your kindness, generosity, and prayers,
they mean the world to our family.
