Poppy’s Medical Bills
Donation protected
Last February, I adopted the most loving, active puppy. She’s been the best part of my day ever since then, giving me love and helping me maintain my mental health through the craziness that is medical school. Some of you may know that my sweet little Poppy has been in critical condition since Saturday morning. What we initially thought was just a stomach bug turned into Addisonian crisis. Essentially her adrenal glands aren’t making enough steroids to keep her body functioning. If I had waited even another few hours to take her to the vet, she’d likely not be here now. Four vets later, she’s now being managed by a critical care and internal medicine team to get her fluid status restored and lab values back to normal. Already her bills are totaling about 8,000 and will likely be a lot more as she needs at least a few more days of hospital medicine. As a student, I’ve given all that I can and am trying to take out any loans I can. Poppy is the best, sweetest dog and should live and a long, healthy life just managed with medications. I hate being the person to ask for financial assistance, but any little bit or just a share would greatly help!
