Hi, my name is Patrick.
I’m 41 and currently homeless in the Orlando, Florida area.
Fixing my car got me back to work, but, I’m still homeless and trying to stay afloat day-to-day.
Right now I’m sleeping on a friend’s couch and doing everything I can to get back on my feet.
The biggest step forward recently is that my car is finally repaired.
The brake failure on my 2004 Toyota RAV4 left me unable to work and the total repair came out to just under $2,000.
My friend’s parents stepped in to help cover it, which I’m incredibly grateful for, but, that was a loan, not a gift, and I’m responsible for paying it back.
Because of that, I’m now able to work again as a Dasher (food+retail delivery driver) for DoorDash.
That’s my only source of income right now.
Even with that progress, I’m still in a difficult position:
- I’m currently without stable housing
- I’m repaying money borrowed from friends and family
- I’m covering daily costs like gas, food and medication
Before my car broke down, I was able to make up to around $500 a week working consistently.
My goal now is to get back to that level and stabilize, but, I need help getting through this gap.
Every donation goes directly toward:
- Gas, so I can keep working
- Food and basic necessities
- Paying back the people who helped me when I had no options
- Working toward stable housing again
Someone I’ve never even met donated $200, which meant a lot and reminded me that people do care.
I don’t take any of this lightly.
If you’re able to help in any way - whether donating or sharing this - it makes a difference for me right now.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
- Patrick
Regular Bills:
- Suboxone (opioid addiction treatment) doctor: $200/month (I *think* I paid him in January, but, I’m way behind with him. That said, he knows everything that’s going on and is still working with me.)
- Prescriptions: $150/month
- Gas: $140/week (I drive for DoorDash 7 days/week)
- uOwn: $20.39/week (13-month financing - $1,182.20 total - for my four vehicle tires)
- Anytime Mailbox: $9.99/month
- Cell phone (needed for work): $46.82/month
- Public Storage unit: $31.00/month
That’s most of my regular bills, but, surely not all.
