Help Get Parker the Medical Treatment He Needs
Donation protected
My name is Shayla, and Parker is my sweet, friendly, loving 12-year-old cat. He has acted as my literal motivation to keep going through the COVID-19 lockdown, every panic attack, and rheumatoid arthritis flare. He has been a lifesaver with just his presence. I need help to return the favor. On Thursday, May 15th, I drove the 3 hours back to his old vet to get in sooner due to several symptoms, but most startlingly was the rapid muscle loss and lethargy. He was quickly diagnosed with diabetes and was starting to develop signs of ketoacidosis, along with signs of kidney issues.
It’s clear he still has a lot of love to give, but due to my own health struggles the past few years, I don't have anywhere near what he will need. I unfortunately was denied for CareCredit and ScratchPay.
My worst nightmare is to have to euthanize, not because there's suffering that can’t be alleviated, but because I can’t afford to get him the treatment he needs. I truly believe he’s not done yet. Already within a week, he's perking up now that he's on insulin and a specialized diet, but we are at the beginning of his journey and not out of the woods.
Parker has had issues with bloating due to IBS, some mild allergies, and asthma, which flared on occasion. This disguised the severity of his symptoms and signs of diabetes until they became severe.
Currently, I am staying with family to be closer to his current vet while we get him stable before we go back to Jefferson City and get established with a new vet. While I'm looking into how to make long-term expenses feasible, getting him over the initial hump is looking increasingly out of the range of financial possibility.
I know times are tough on us all, but if you can, please help me give him a chance; any help is appreciated.
Iv included the first vet bill and test results as proof as well.

Note: Over the next several days, I'll update you with a detailed breakdown and receipts of expenses/estimates so far, as well as likely ways to donate directly to a vet if they allow it. Please note that the goal set is pulled from the low end of the estimates iv been given, and is likely to be adjusted as time goes on or if any complications occur. I will always post updates ASAP.
