I owe my career and so much more to travel -- but I was lucky to have a grandmother who paid for my first trip out of the country, a trip to Europe, where history, geography  languages and so many other things I'd only seen in textbooks came to life before my eyes! So when I learned that my long-time mentee, DC Public School student Christy Hall, got a chance to travel to Senegal on a class trip, I knew I had to help her make it happen. Christy has not had the chance to travel outside DC for the most part, let alone out of the country so this will be a life-changing opportunity for her.  

She and three other girls are selling snacks to help fund the trip, but each needs to raise $2500 -- and that's a whole lot of chocolate and time is running out! Please join me in helping make their trip come true by making a contribution. The deadline has passed but we have an extension until March 15 as drop-dead deadline for the full amount, so don't delay!

**Note that the fundraising goal reflects the initial funding gap for Christy, including an additional $100 for vaccination costs. The remaining three students need approximately $3000 total as of March 4, so we will roll any additional contributions to these other worthy young ladies.  All contributions are tax-deductible through the nonprofit Club Afrique organizing the trip!
