Help us get our daughter an Ear ♥️

Our sweet baby girl Luna was born with Microtia Atresia on her right side. Microtia is where the ear does not fully form in the first trimester, causing the absence of the physical ear and Atresia is the absence of closure of the inner ear canal. There is nothing that explains why this happens, but it occurs 1 in every 6,000 births.

We thank God everyday that our Luna girl is a strong, brave, and super healthy kid and her little ear has shown us nothing but love and compassion and a new appreciation of life. As you can imagine, as new parents, we were nervous for this unexpected adventure but throughout this journey, she has shown us that no matter how different we may look, we are all the same inside - we want happiness and love and adventure and the feeling of togetherness.

We can’t express the gratitude we feel to be able to share this experience and be supported by our family and friends. Our dream from the very beginning was to be able to get our girl a cosmetic ear. This has been a long and highly anticipated moment.

We have done extensive research on the very few doctors that specialize in this type of surgery through the nation and have finally found the perfect one. We have also found that with this surgery, we have not had any luck with insurance covering a portion of it and we will need to cover all medical costs out of pocket. Luna’s surgery is anticipated to be scheduled 2024 with a substantial deposit required for scheduling and then the full amount due two months prior to surgery. As you can imagine we want to start the process of saving and preparing ourselves for the upcoming surgery and what is to come after.
