Otis to Florida for skateboarding Nationals!

8 year old Otis Sanders has been competing in the California amateur skateboarding league since November of 2021. He recently qualified to go the the National championships in Lakeland Florida on January 21st 2023. Not only did he qualify, but he did so for all three events, Vert, Park and street in the 7 and under division. We had originally decided that we would not attend due to financial hardships. Otis was disappointed because he had worked extremely hard to get to nationals but also because he wanted to fly on an airplane for the first time in his life. Recently we had heard that some of his skate friends were successful in raising money thru Gofundme.com to finance their trip expenses, so I thought we would give it a shot! The expenses for this trip include, 2 round trip tickets for otis and his dad to Lakeland Florida, a rental car, gas, food and a hotel. We will need to to leave (1/17/23) a few days early to get the feel of Lakeland skatepark and put together his runs for all 3 events. If we do not reach our goal of $3000 in time for the contest, the money we do have will go towards sending Otis to Woodward skate camp this year. Thank you for all your support towards Otis’s dream!
