Oliver came into our lives in the most unexpected way—through my aunt and grandmother in Louisiana. Though my husband and I had decided it wasn’t the right time for a dog, he ended up driving eight hours to bring Oliver home. Since then, he’s been our best buddy, traveling with us across the U.S. and even into Canada. Everyone who meets him falls in love with his goofy, lovable nature. He’s our snuggly, ice-cube-loving klutz who’s always ready for an adventure, and as our first pet together as a married couple, he holds a special place in our hearts.
In March 2025, X-rays revealed a bone cyst in Oliver’s left hip that’s caused severe damage and constant pain. Our energetic boy no longer plays like he used to. We're currently waiting to be scheduled at the University of Florida for a total hip replacement—or possible amputation and cancer treatment, depending on biopsy results. This comes just months after Oliver needed emergency surgery for a stomach blockage caused by eating a snowman doorstop. With two major, unplanned surgeries in less than a year, we’re struggling to cover the mounting vet bills and would be so grateful for any help to get our sweet boy back on his feet.
