Ballet Summer Intensive 2024 - Nolan Alcott

Ballet has taken Nolan on an unexpected journey in the past year. In 2023, he received an invitation and scholarship through Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) to attend five weeks of Ballet West Summer Intensive in Salt Lake City, Utah. Nolan came out of that summer intensive with big dreams! It was a fabulous, life-changing experience.

Nolan plans on another five week, fabulous summer intensive in June and July. But to our surprise, he received a scholarship at Dallas YAGP 2024 to attend an additional intensive - a three week John Cranko Summer Intensive in New York City, late July-August. John Cranko is the official school of Stuttgart ballet (Germany). They are bringing a summer intensive to the USA for the 1st time. This is a highly prestigious summer intensive.

We have carefully financially planned for Nolan's upcoming ballet expenses, including his 5-week Summer Intensive. This new opportunity - being a surprise - is not in our budget. It seems like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Nolan.

If you - like us - are not well-versed in the ballet world, you may want to know some facts and figures. Summer Intensives are a way for serious ballet students to further their training in a concentrated summer course. Students often try to get admittance to programs away from home in order to broaden their knowledge and experience. These can run from $5,000 to $10,000 (including tuition, room, food, travel expenses, and special dance gear). It is considered an investment for the future.

The John Cranko SI will cost us around $4,600, not including travel expenses and food.

Any help is appreciated, and everything we receive will go towards getting Nolan to New York this summer.
