Nikki “Baby Blue” Steinbach needs your help to get back on her feet. On January 11th she suffered a traumatic injury to her leg while playing a sport she loves: rugby. This includes a broken tibia, multiple fractures in the femur above the knee cap, dislocated kneecap and 3 torn tendons. She also ripped all of her ligaments on the knee and has peroneal nerve damage.
With this type of injury, she will need multiple surgeries and doctors expect 6-12 months for recovery. She may never play rugby again. As devastating as this is for Nikki, her priority right now is to undergo surgery so she can go home, start her recovery, and find ways to jump right back into the rugby community. She is already talking about coaching.
Anyone who knows Baby Blue knows how dedicated and determined she is. She has been a member of Arizona Rugby Community since 2005. Over those years she has given so much to the club and the community. She is seen as a motivator for her teammates and she is an advocate for team culture always first to organize team events and social outings. Time and time again, we’ve seen Baby Blue stepping up for us. Now it’s our turn to step up for her.
Baby Blue is not one to ask for help, so we are asking on her behalf. Can you help us raise $5000 for her? Any amount you donate will make all of the difference in the world for her. These funds would help her cover her medical bills and her transition out of the hospital to her everyday life, which will not be the same for the next 6-12 months and beyond.
