Get Nick Russo Urgent Medical Care and back to USA

Our good friend Nick Russo has had a serious accident in Puerto Rico. He has multiple fractured vertebrae and damaged Sacrum and potentially broken ankle. Although he is conscious and responsive he has a big journey ahead to get the best care as he can only lay flat on his back to not risk severe spinal injury.
It’s early days but most likely a medical evacuation back to the States will be required and/or ongoing cost of care in Puerto Rico and the states.
Either way there is a sense of urgency in raising funds so that every option is available to prevent Nick from experiencing life changing permanent spinal injury
Nick is a great friend to all who know him, a devoted organizer, community member and would do a solid for anyone who asked. Being injured in a foreign place comes with quite a lot of additional concerns and logistics. It is necessary to provide all his food and comfort needs in addition to the cost of the medical treatment as the hospital has not been providing necessities such as food, water, blankets and communication is extremely limited.
We have to prepare for multiple possibilities. Many services such as ambulance rides require upfront cash payments in order to proceed with essential services.
Some love from the community, known and unknown would go along way financially and for morale as he traverses this challenging time.
Please help him get back to the USA to heal, rebuild his life and get back to being the community leader he is.
